Our Story

High Quality Fish Treatments

Fish Treatment Ltd is a specialist fish medicine company founded by a fish vet, Dr Fiona Macdonald BVMS MRCVS.

After spending some time in a specialist fish practice, Fiona became aware of the shortage of well-researched easy-to-use medicines for ornamental fish.

Using her experience gained over years in the Veterinary Pharmaceutical Industry, she set about developing her own range of products, calling on the expertise of various colleagues to source high quality active ingredients, create novel formulations to aid in the easy administration of the products (solubility of the medicines is a key feature of the Fish Treatment range) and back up any product with properly researched scientific data.

Our Approach

Fish Treatment Ltd works in conjunction with a professional veterinary GMP manufacturing unit, Vetark Products Ltd., to bring expertise in high quality formulation and user-friendly packaging, as well as Distribution and Wholesaling facilities.

The aim of Fish Treatment Ltd is to bring a science-based veterinary professional approach to making high quality treatments available directly to the koi keeper and the ornamental fish enthusiast.

Easy to use Medicine

Treatments

Products to treat fish parasites such as flukes and tapeworms were the first to be developed and launched, and the key features of the products, Fluke-Solve®, Fluke-Solve® Aquarium and Lice-Solve® are:

  • Easy to use – dissolve readily without having to use boiling water or solvents.
  • Effective even at low temperatures from 3ºC.
  • Safe for the fish and for other creatures in the pond or aquarium.
  • Safe for biofilters and plants.
  • Science based data to confirm the efficacy of the medication

Fluke-Solve®, Fluke-Solve Plus® and Lice-Solve® are marketed under the Small Animal Exemption Scheme of the Veterinary Medicines Directorate

Diagnostics

Fish Treatment are now offering a diagnostic service for Koi Herpesvirus (KHV), and skin and gill flukes (Gyrodactylus and Dactylogyrus).
